- Making You Healthier and Happier Through Allergy Relief
For many people, allergic reactions and other symptoms can be difficult to pin down to one particular source, and often a myriad of things throughout the home or office can affect the way you feel. To combat this, you want an air purifier that is effective for a broad spectrum of indoor pollutants, allergens and even microbes. This is where the AirPura P600 air purifier can help. With five stage filtration, the P600 offers the broadest reach of all of the AirPura HEPA air purifiers. Not only does it remove the common particle allergens like pollen, dust mites and dander, but it also remove a broad spectrum of chemical vapors, smoke, and odors as well as microbes and pathogens.
By combining the tried and true technologies of HEPA and activated carbon with cutting edge, photocatalytic oxidation and UV light, the P600 removes, breaks down and oxidizes allergens chemical vapors and pathogens, respectively. And like other AirPura air purifiers, the P600 is quiet, durable, and uses components and parts that work for even the most sensitive of individuals. When you're looking for comprehensive filtration in a durable, no-nonsense machine, the AirPura P600 antimicrobial air purifier is the preferred choice.

Air Pura P600 Air Purifier
Reducing allergies and asthma can often be accomplished with environmental control, and when you have a clear idea of what your triggers are, this task be accomplished with a few choice products and adjustment of some of your daily habits. But what happens when the problem has a wide range of sourced or when traditional methods or appliances aren't enough? It is circumstances like these where a highly versatile and effective tool is what you need, and when it comes to air filtration, the AirPura P600 air purifier is that tool. With multiple stages of filtration and both tried and true as well as cutting edge filtration technology, the AirPura P600 offers a way to remove the widest variety of allergens, indoor pollutants and chemicals from your home. After testing this model and comparing it to comparable air purifiers as well as other models in the AirPura line, this is how the P600 fared.
What I like about the AirPura P600 Air Purifier
The filtration of the Air Pura P600 is broken down into four distinct stages. Each targets different type of particles and vapors that can aggravate allergies, asthma, MCS or other respiratory problems. The first stage of filtration is the large particle prefilter, which traps visible particles in the air. Being a full inch in depth, this prefilter is larger than most others and keeps things like dust and hair from clogging up the successive layers of filter media. Once air passes through this layer it next reaches the activated carbon filter drum. With granulated, coconut shell-based carbon, this filter adsorbs smoke, odors molecules and some VOCs. The coconut shell base is one of the best for those with sensitivities to other types of carbon or permanganates and oxidizing agents that care commonly found carbon filters. The two inch thick bed bonds with pollutants, holding them tight in the millions of tiny pores and fissures that make up activated carbon. Bracketing out each side of this filter are two white, microsuppress filters that not only keep the carbon contained but add additional layers of particle filtration before and after the air passes through this filter.
With much of the smoke, odors and chemical vapors removed, the air then travels through a sealed HEPA filter. Unlike other HEPA filters, the filter of the P600 is pleated while the media is still warm to prevent cracks and tears that reduce the efficiency of other HEPA air purifiers. Removing 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns or larger, this filter eliminates the common particle allergens like pollen, dust mites, pet dander, and mold spores. Once the air has passed through this third stage of filtration it is on to the final, and most advanced, step in the filtration phase - photocatalytic oxidation (PCO).
Sunlight breaks down many types of chemicals that are released into the air, and while we don't often think about it, the UV rays that cascade down upon us during sunny days are deadly to bacteria, viruses and a whole host of pathogens. This same concept is integrated into the P600 air purifier. A UVC lamp neutralizes microbes and works in conjunction with a TitanClean reflector, exclusive to AirPura. The TitanClean reflector is made up of a metal plate that is coated with titanium dioxide. When exposed to UV light the titanium dioxide oxidizes airborne chemicals. The process of oxidizing VOCs and other chemicals breaks the chemical bonds that turns inert elements into harmful chemical vapors. What is left are harmless compounds like molecules of water vapor and carbon dioxide. Not only is this process safe, but it is extremely effective in eliminating dangerous airborne chemicals that can slip by traditional carbon filtration. Additionally, unlike some UV air purifiers, the P600 is approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), which holds stricter standards for home appliances and ozone than the EPA. For people with asthma and other respiratory conditions, it means superior air filtration with no ozone production. In all, the four stage AirPura P600 offers some of the most complete filtration available today.
While filtration is the core of the AirPura P600, there are other features that makes this model efficient and very easy to use. With inexpensive air purifiers and even some of the most well respected names in the industry, there are components of air purifiers that can off-gas and cause problems for sensitive individuals, like the glues or adhesives used with the filters, the rubber or foam gaskets used to seal the system or plastics found in the housing or filter frames. With AirPura, the emphasis is on being the solution and not the source of the problem. Non-toxic and minimal adhesives, felt gaskets, steel construction, limited use of plastics, and electrical components that are placed outside of the clean airflow are all standard with Air Pura air purifiers. And you won't overpay for additional features like timers, digital displays or fancy chimes. The control panel consists off an indicator light that lets you know the UV lamp is operating properly and a variable speed dial. Set it, and simply let this unit go about cleaning your indoor air.
One of the last things that make this model unique amongst other air purifiers is the coverage and airflow. The powerful motor moves 560 cubic feet of air per minute, the highest amongst all residential air purifiers. The internal design of this model allows for the freer flow of air through the machine, without sharp beds or turns that can dramatically reduce airflow. These things give the P600 the ability to clean larger spaces, quicker, than comparable models.
For light sleepers, the P600 HEPA air purifier is one of your best options. On low, the fan is literally whisper quiet and shouldn't disturb even the lightest sleepers.
What I do not like about the AirPura P600 Air Purifier
It is worth noting that there is an indicator light that lets you know when to replace the HEPA filter, but nothing to remind you when to replace the prefilter (annually), the TitanClean Reflector (every 18 months) or the carbon filter (biennially - every two years). The UV bulbs generally last about 10,000 hours, and an indicator light will let you know when these are functioning correctly. In terms of reminders, this is fairly similar to comparable brands and models.
The AirPura P600 HEPA air purifier is likely one of the very best machines you can own to solve difficult and multifaceted air quality problems while providing relief from allergies, asthma, MCS, and respiratory distress. With superior filtration and components, the P600 does a better job of removing more types of pollutants, simply and efficiently, than comparable air purifier models. So don't simply target one problem, target them all with an air purifier that is made to provide you with years of reliable, quality air filtration.
