Similar to the standard HealthMate filter, the Austin Air HealthMate+, or Superblend, filter features 15 lbs. of activated carbon and Zeolite impregnated with potassium iodide (6.5 lbs. for Jr. filter). This blend of filter media combines the powerful adsorption of activated carbon and Zeolite with the oxidizing power of potassium iodide to remove one of the broadest ranges of chemical pollutants available. Coupled with 60 sq. ft. of true medical grade HEPA filter media (30 sq. ft. for Jr. filter), a built-in medium particle prefilter, and a separate large particle prefilter gives the HealthMate Plus all the tools to trap particles that can aggravate allergies and asthma, including dander, pollen, mold spores, and dust. For those who are chemically sensitive, this filter's 4 stage filtration provides superior particle, bacteria, virus, gas, odor, and VOC filtration, all in one package.
Each filter contains your choice of full size or Austin Jr. replacement filter as well as a large particle prefilter. Select black for use in Black, Silver, or Midnight Blue HealthMate Plus air purifiers. Select the white filter option for White or Sandstone HealthMate Plus models. Replace every 3-5 years or as needed. Models: FR450 & FR250.
*Please note that any Austin Air units manufactured before 1995 can only use the Allergy Machine HEGA filters.
