The Ebac Orion is a truly impressive drying machine that is designed with a cleaning and restoration professional in mind. This unit can remove up to 28 gallons of water per day. Its high-capacity and efficient operation mean you get your money's worth with the Orion.

With an internal condensate pump, the Orion is easy to operate, because water can be drained over a long distance. The Orion is a big machine, but you can move it between construction sites with the fixed handle assembly and the large, rugged wheels.  The Ebac Orion is the perfect dehumidifier for large and complex water damage projects.

What I like about Orion dehumidifiers

The Orion is a powerful unit.  It has double the CFM power of Ebac's other restoration dehumidifiers, but it still operates just as quietly as the smaller units in this category like the Kompact and the Triton. The Orion is one of the few units that gives the user a ducting option. The ducting option allows you to vent the warmed air and better control the temperature of the room you are drying. This unit also comes with a GFI plus which makes it extra sensitive to particularly wet situations where the mixing of excessive water and electricity is a strong concern. The Orion is also one of the Ebac models that comes with a washable air filter to keep larger debris out of the unit's motor. Lastly, as with many in the Ebac dehumidifier line, has a reverse cycle defrost system to keep the coils from icing over during extended periods of use.

What I do not like about Orion dehumidifiers

The Orion is a big machine and probably not great for a small one or two person restoration operation. The Orion does not have humidistat control. It is a machine that is either running or not running based on operator control. Typically you will turn the unit on at a restoration site, let it run while you work or all night then shut it down when you leave or the next day. To this end, an added Hours Run Meter helps you keep track of how long the Orion has been effectively removing moisture from the air.
