Instructions ‒ Replacement Vornado® Humidifier Wick Filters (# MD1-0002)

Role of Vornado Humidifier Wick Filters:

• Vornado evaporative humidifiers move large volumes of dry air through two specially designed Humidifier Wick Filters to deliver and circulate moistened air throughout the room.

• The manufacturer recommends using only genuine Vornado wick filter replacements for maximum performance of your humidifier. Filter materials and dimensions (7.25" H x 9.5"L x 1.5"W) are designed specifically to work the best in your Vornado evaporative humidifier.

Filter Replacement:

• Replace wick filters approximately once every 1‐2 months, depending on use (or sooner if the filter media becomes hard or discolored).

• Please see the Owner's Manual tab for your model's Owner's Guide, which contains full instructions on changing the filters.

General on Vornado® Humidifier Wick Filters:

• After unplugging the unit and and removing the power head, always remove the humidifier filters too before cleaning or maintaining the humidifier.

• The wick filters may be cleaned to prolong their life. Please refer to the Owner's Guide for detailed instructions. Other Vornado tips on extending filter life:

• Use tap or untreated water if you have a water softener system. The sodium in chemically softened water can cause the filters to become hard or mushy.

• Hard water or water containing high amounts of iron or lime can shorten filter life. Use a bacteriostat or water treatment (found in most hardware stores) or refer to the Owner's Guide for recommended cleaning instructions.

• When storing the humidifier, discard the wick filters if no longer suitable for reuse (filter media hard or discolored). If suitable for reuse, ensure filters are completely dry before storing by following the manufacturer's instructions in the Owner's Guide.

• To prevent the growth of microorganisms in the tank or on the filters:

• Turn off the humidifier if the relative humidity in the room exceeds 60% (the manufacturer recommends the use of a hygrometer [humidity monitor] to gauge accurate relative humidity levels in the room).
• Do not leave water in the tank if the unit will be turned off for more than 8 hours.
• Do not leave water in the tank when storing.
