• Vornado PCO air purifiers utilize two (2) Silverscreen™ Trays that easily slide into and out of the air purifier. Please see the Owner's Manual for full instructions on changing these trays.

• Silverscreen™ Trays use a coated titanium dioxide media that reacts to UV light in a process called Photo-Catalytic Oxidation (PCO). This process is safe, non-toxic, and produces no ozone, but does cause gases and organisms passing through the Silverscreen chamber to oxidize, thereby turning bacteria, viruses, and gases into harmless molecules.
• Typically, titanium dioxide degrades rather quickly when exposed to UV light (sometimes as quickly as 90 days), but Vornado's patented coating prolongs titanium dioxide's useful life to five (5) years or more, and with no degradation in performance!
• Replace the Silverscreen™ Trays every five (5) years with continuous use. Vornado PCO series air purifiers will alert you that it's time to replace these trays by illuminating an indicator on the unit's control panel after 45,000 hours of run time (about 5 years). Below, the number of Silverscreen Trays required in these models:
