We had a Miele for 15 years prior and NOTHING went wrong until it finally died, so this purchase became about brand loyalty. When it arrived, it was clear Miele did some MAJOR enhancements over the past 15 years! Wow...this thing is a high end vehicle now...with HEPA filters and so many enhancements. The filter bags alone are so impressive in design and purpose...if there is dust in this house its now air locked into the bag and we're no longer just kicking it up. Fantastic build with quality materials. It is heavier so if you have steps, just consider additional weight at least from the Miele we had 15 years ago... but if you have allergies, I don't think you could afford not to get one of these if you want to address the causes resulting from dust. p.s. Never used Achoo Allergy.com but surfed and they provided best price by far. Took a chance and glad we did! Offered over night shipping and received a call from Customer Service to offer a special package...which was so nice! Great attention to service! Highly recommend this company!

When I received this vacuum it was easy and ready to use right out of the box. The suction that this vacuum has is amazing! I have two dogs and this vacuum picks up all of the hair off of the floor with no problems. The ease and maneuverability is a breeze with the twisting body. I will never go back to a bagless vacuum again!

I have owned many different Vacuums and have never been totally satisfied with any of them. I was almost tempted to buy an Oreck or Dyson based on co-workers experiences, until I used them. These Vacs are what I would consider very expensive no value. I used the Dyson to clean out a Paper Shredder and ended up with a sinus infection. The Miele Jazz, which I purchased from Achoo Allergy, is a real value when it comes to performance and attention to detail. I absolutely love it! And, it has exceeded my expectations. Achoo! sent my Vac via next day mail and even sent me a thank you card later. I felt like they appreciated my business. Mark

The new Miele S7 upright vacuum cleaners offer the innovation and balance to clean virtually any surface. Like
the top of the line Tango, the Calypso, Jazz and Salsa offer numerous conveniences and signature features that have
made Miele one of the premier brands in home care products. With a new swivel-neck design and the powerful Vortex
motor, the Calypso, Jazz and Salsa provide unmatched cleaning ability in a more affordable package. All three are
identical except in color, the Calypso - Lotus White, Jazz Melon Yellow, and Salsa Mango Red. Like others in the
S7 lineup, I put one of this trio through several different tests, and here is what I found.
What I like about the Calypso, Jazz & Salsa
The versatility of this vacuum is likely its most attractive attribute. What Miele accomplished with these vacuums
was adapting the best features of their canisters into an upright body. With the Calypso, Jazz or Salsa the ability
to effectively clean flooring and furniture, even your vehicle, is bundled in a one package. On my high pile and low
pile carpets the Salsa was better able to pull up stubborn pet hair, red Georgia clay and other debris quickly and
effectively. The cleaning depth was ideal throughout because of the automatic height adjustment. Unlike other uprights,
there are no knobs, dials or pedals that need to be adjusted to set the height of the brush roll for maximum cleaning depth.
A separate brush roll motor is another example of an additional feature that serves a most practical purpose.
The traditional drawback with uprights has been that on smooth flooring the brush roll throws dirt and debris
instead of picking it up. With the ability to disengage the brush roll and use straight suction, the S7 upright
can clean linoleum, tile, hardwoods and laminate flooring with ease. And the suction from the Vortex motor is powerful
enough that it will even draw in debris without actually have to vacuum over top of it.
The new Swivel-Neck design is simple in design but makes a big impact. Smooth is likely the best term I would use
to describe how it handles. The swivel-neck lowers the center of gravity in these uprights and aides when turning or
cornering around furniture. This feature gives each of the S7 uprights a very nimble feel. With the brush roll engaged,
the easy maneuverability gives you the feel that these vacuums are self-propelled.
Anyone who uses this vacuum will appreciate several other additional features. The large capacity, HyClean dust
bag (the largest featured by any Miele vacuum), is a 9-ply, self-sealing bag. Not only does it capture and retain
allergens but it also makes change and disposal of the bag simple and hygienic. The Hose-Lock stabilizes the vacuum
cleaner while using the 14 ft. crush-proof hose, and the wand is compatible with all Miele attachments (except powerbrushes).
The Calypso, Jazz and Salsa also come standard with HEPA filtration, Sealed Systems, three fully integrated mini tools,
deluxe handle, rotary dial controls, LED brush light and a 55 ft. cleaning radius. Though these are standard features,
they are a decided advantage over comparable uprights.
What I do not like about the Calypso, Jazz & Salsa
Unlike the Tango and Bolero, these three vacuums are equipped with rotary dial controls instead
of electronic controls. What this amounts to is the difference between pushing a button and turning a
dial for most, not all that significant.
Again, the Calypso, Jazz and Salsa lack a feature that comes standard with the Tango and Bolero the
automatic suction setting. Instead of the vacuum being able to adjust itself on the fly, as you move to
different surfaces you have to adjust the suction setting manually.
These units are more affordable than the upper level of the S7 series, but for some they still may
be outside of their target price range. When considering a Miele S7 upright, it is best to think of it as
an investment. For a vacuum cleaner designed to last for 20 years, it is hard not to.
Overall, the Calypso, Jazz or Salsa are excellent introductory models into the S7 line of Miele uprights.
They retain most of the features and all of the quality of Tango and Bolero with less expense. Regardless
of which model you choose you will get the best that Miele has to offer.
