Customer Q & A
Q1: Are the bristles on the STB205-3 Turbobrush natural or synthetic?
Synthetic. The bristles in any powered floor tool are synthetic electrically driven powerheads and air driven turboheads
Q2: Is this suitable for hardwood floors too? I have mostly flat sisal rugs and wood floors, plus a dog that sheds.
It will work on hardwoods, but the performance won't be quite as good as a regular smooth floor tool. Because it is an air driven turbobrush, the brushroll is moving anytime the vacuum is on. This can sometimes be a problem as the brushroll is often the culprit in upright vacs that makes vacuuming smooth flooring with them, a chore. It can sometimes throw debris, through the action of the brushroll. So, for the rugs, this would be fine, but for the smooth floors, not as good. At home, I have a Callisto, one of the originals with the SEB 217-3 powerheads and the Twister Parquet Floor Tool. I use the Twister for all of the floor, then when finished, put the SEB 217-3 on and go back over the rugs. You could go with a combo tool as well. Not quite as good on the rugs as either the STB 205-3 or the 217-3 since the combo tool lacks a brushroll, but it's decent for smooth floors.
